Thank you for funding Coast Guard, and the TSA on March 27 and refusing to fund ICE and CBP without significant reform. We also thank you for filibustering against the SAVE act.
We ask you to continue to stand strong against the authoritarian power grab of the Trump regime and:
Refuse to allocate additional funds for ICE and CBP
Continue to expose the lawlessness and cruelty of Trump’s immigration enforcement operations
Refuse to allocate one more dollar for the illegal war with Iran
Continue to filibuster and prevent the SAVE act from passage in the Senate
Background
On March 27, Senator Schiff and Senator Padilla joined other Senate Democrats in voting to fund FEMA, the Coast Guard, and the TSA, while still excluding funding for ICE and CBP. Although the funding bill failed in the House, our Senators did their part in continuing to provide no money for Trump’s personal henchmen.
Our Senators also succeeded in filibustering the SAVE Act.
These are excellent examples of our Senators doing the right thing based on our asks. Thank you for calling them, and thank THEM for listening to you.
Unfortunately, the Republicans in the House of Representatives are now threatening to use the Reconciliation maneuver to ram through their undemocratic and unjust agenda. This will lead to multiple funding fights ahead.
Giving kudos to our Senators will encourage them to continue fighting for us.
