My name is __________. I am a constituent, and my zip code is _______. I am a member of Indivisible SF.
As my representative in Congress, you need to defend our Constitution against Trump's usurpation of the power to declare war. Don’t let him grab power to use our military for his personal gain.
Background
Article I, Section 8, Clause 11 of the U.S. Constitution says: "Congress shall have Power … To declare war, grant letters of marque and reprisal, and make rules concerning captures on land and water;"
Yet on January 8, wannabe king Trump asserted to the New York Times that his power to unilaterally use military force internationally and domestically is constrained only by: "My own morality. My own mind. It’s the only thing that can stop me.”

This Week's US Congressional Call Scripts:
The manipulatively titled “Stop the Sexualization of Children Act” proposes legislation to withhold federal funding if schools do not comply with the government’s opinion of what children should or should not be allowed to read. Tell Your Representatives: Vote NO on a National Book Ban!
Demand your Members of Congress continue to work to stop the war on Iran
Unfortunately, KOSA is back with revised language and deceptively incorporated into the Kids Internet and Digital Safety (KIDS) Act. Tell Your Representatives: Vote NO on KIDS!
President Donald Trump has launched unauthorized military strikes on Iran, dragging the United States into yet another war without approval from Congress. The Constitution is clear: Congress, NOT the president, holds the power to declare war and to approve or disapprove sustained military engagement. Urge your Members of Congress to use every let option available to them to oppose this war..
Urge your electeds to immediately support the resolution to remove US from hostilities in Iran and curtail presidential war powers.
Keep up the demand: Democrats must not give one additional dime for ICE/CBP!
Demand Democrats give not one additional dime for ICE/CBP.
Oppose any funding for DHS. Not one penny more!
Tell your representative to NOT vote for any DHS bill or legislative process that fails to include significant and meaningful measures to rein in ICE and CBP's unchecked violence, impunity, and denial of basic human rights!
