Trump and his MAGA regime are assaulting our democracy and threatening our economic security. To fund massive tax cuts for their billionaire buddies, they are massively cutting funds for the domestic social-safety net while increasing defense and police-state spending to historic highs. As your constituent, I know that you will speak out against and vote “No” on their spending bills. But our democracy, our freedom, and our economic future are on the line. You must do more than just business-as-usual opposition. You must decisively and publicly reject the, “Do Nothing” strategy of Democratic Party leaders like James Carville and Senator Schumer. You must delay, obstruct, resist, and vigorously oppose Trump, MAGA, and their authoritarian agenda by every means possible at every opportunity.
Background
Through a bewildering fog of illegal firings and agency shutdowns, appropriation bills, debt ceiling bills, reconciliation bills, unilateral tariffs, and now Trump's 2026 Budget proposal, the goals of the MAGA regime remain crystal clear:
Grant enormous tax cuts to giant corporations and the obscenely rich.
Massively increase military, police, and anti-immigrant spending.
Slash domestic spending, the social safety net, and programs that protect and benefit We the People.
Cripple and gut health, safety, environment, and consumer regulations and oversight so that corporations, institutions, and agencies can lie, cheat, steal, pollute, and discriminate with impunity.
Revert to, and mandate, the white-supremacist racial hierarchies and Christian fundamentalist social norms of the past – which they label Making America Great Again.
Budgets and appropriations are how policies are actually imposed. If enacted as written, the MAGA regime's budget bills are designed to inflict on the American people a far-right, extremist agenda that is deeply unpopular – even among many of those who voted for Trump.
