My name is __________. I am a constituent, and my zip code is _______. I am a member of Indivisible SF.
As a constituent I urge you to vote NO on H.R.32, the Defund Our Communities Act. This bill would create chaos. It could potentially cut federal funding to schools, hospitals, homeless shelters, and transportation systems in more than two dozen states deemed "sanctuaries." Please vote NO on this harmful bill.
Background
H.R.32 is a bill that makes sanctuary cities ineligible for federal funds. Its loose interpretation of the idea of a sanctuary city will allow the federal government to defund critical community programs practically at will. If enacted, this bill would create chaos and functionally blackmail our cities and states into aiding Trump's cruel plans for mass deportations—or lose funding for our schools, hospitals, transportation, and even housing.
