If and when Trump’s rescission package reaches Congress, you must vote NO and use all your powers to stop it. DOGE’s USAID cuts, and potentila PBS and NPR cuts, cannot be made legal.
Background
The White House was going to ask for a rescission package which would make the DOGE cuts to USAID legal and was also asking for cuts to NPR and PBS.
The original request was supposed to be made on Monday, April 28. However, over the weekend, the White House said they may be delaying the request for the Rescission Package.
The purpose of the rescission package is to eliminate funding that Congress has already approved. It would make Trump’s dismantling of USAID legal, and would invalidate lawsuits against the staff layoffs at USAID.
Simple majorities in both Houses are needed for the bill to pass, so if and when it arrives to Congress, it will be hard to stop. But our Members of Congress must still vote NO and use their procedural power to stop this bill.

Today we are confronted with the most dangerous political-constitutional crisis since the depths of the Great Depression of the 1930s and the rise of domestic fascism. And if Trump/Musk are not stopped, American democracy will face the gravest threat since the slave-holder rebellion of the Civil War.

H.R.32 could potentially cut federal funding to schools, hospitals, homeless shelters, and transportation systems in more than two dozen states deemed "sanctuaries."
On Monday, wannabe-king Trump issued an unconstitutional decree through his Office of Management and Budget (OMB) halting a wide swath of federal non-defense funding for an indefinite period. This is an assertion of illegal powers to seize money that Congress has already legally directed to be spent for health, safety, education, research, housing, disaster relief, small business loans, and a wide range of other public needs.
