Call Script
Vote YES on H.R. 6545: The Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2018.
Background
The Violence Against Women Act was included in a defense and health spending bill passed last month. However, it was only granted a short-term reauthorization until Dec. 7. This new version contains language about letting law enforcement officials take weapons from domestic abusers who can’t legally own them, and significantly increases funding for rape crisis centers.

This Week's US House Call Scripts:
The Office of Management and Budget is now proposing a wide-ranging rule that would subject all federal grant-making to political loyalty criteria, superseding any scientific advice. Call or write your elected representatives to raise their awareness of your concerns.
Tell your representatives to reject the violence happening at Delaney Hall (NJ) and detention centers around the country, including here in California (Adelanto).
Demand your Congressmember hold hearings on the unlawful reorganization of the US Forest Service.
Tell your representatives that they must refuse to cooperate in any way with the MAGA regime. And then come join us or one of the other organizations in the resistance movement!
Tell your representatives: DO NOT RE-AUTHORIZE FISA702 WITHOUT AMENDMENTS
MAGA Republicans hope to pass the first step of an updated ‘Reconciliation 2.0 Bill’ on the Senate floor this week. Their stated goal is to have it ready for Trump's signature by June 1. So we need to move fast to build opposition and resistance to one-party rule.
The section 702 of FISA (foreign intelligence surveillance act) was passed in 2008 as a counterterrorism measure, but it has a long history abuse because it. Tell Congress to reject reauthorization until it gets reformed!
Over the course of several days, Trump has made repeated, unequivocal threats to commit war crimes. Tell Congress to do its job and hold the executive branch to account!
Our Senators are standing with us.
Congress must hold the Trump/MAGA regime in check, and that includes defending broadcasters’ right to report the news and commentators’ opinions freely and our right to be well informed
