Hi, my name is _____ and I live in ZIP code _____, and I’m a member of Indivisible SF. I want to thank [Senator Padilla/Senator Feinstein] for [his/her] commitment to do everything necessary to pass S1, the For The People Act, including modifying or even eliminating the filibuster, if necessary.
While citizens like me, all across the country, are similarly lobbying their own Senators to do the same, I want to know what MY Senator is doing to influence [his/her] Democratic colleagues who might not yet be on board with the importance of protecting ALL Americans' freedom to vote.
[Bonus email/Resistbot language for Sen. Feinstein] Senator Feinstein has often spoken of the collaborative relationships she has developed with other Senators like Joe Manchin and others, during her quarter century of service in the U.S. Senate. There is no more important time for her to leverage those relationships to the fullest, if we are to protect our democracy. So, again, my question is, "What is Senator Feinstein doing to convince her colleagues of the importance of reforming the filibuster, so that we can pass S1 in the Senate?"
[Bonus email/Resistbot language for Sen. Padilla] Senator Padilla has proved himself to be a strong advocate of voting freedom, during his short tenure as our junior Senator from California, and for that we are grateful. As the former Attorney General for the State of California, he also has a unique knowledge of the importance of voter protections and voting rights laws. As such, I would like to know how the Senator is using his passion and his expertise to convince other Senators, who are perhaps less convinced of the importance of voting freedoms, to do what is necessary to ensure S1 can be passed in the Senate, including reforming or eliminating the filibuster, if necessary?
