Senator Dianne Feinstein

SF Office: (415) 393-0707
DC Office: (202) 224-3841
LA Office: (310) 914-7300
Fresno Office: (559) 485-7430
San Diego Office: (619) 231-9712

If you can't get through to one office, try another.  There is no benefit to calling one office over another. Leaving a voicemail is as good as reaching a live person. Hate the phone? Resistbot is your friend.

Senator Kamala Harris

SF Office: (415) 981-9369
DC Office: (202) 224-3553

LA Office: (213) 894-5000
San Diego Office: (619) 239-3884

Call the SF office first, but try the other offices if you can’t get through. If you can’t get a live person, leave a voicemail and also send a follow-up email written in your own words. Hate the phone? Resistbot is your friend.

Call the SF office first, but try the DC office if you can’t get through. If you get voicemail, hang up and try a few more times to talk to a real person. Don’t give up! Short direct messages are most effective. Hate the phone? Resistbot is your friend.

Call Script

My name is __________. I am a constituent, and my zip code is _______. I am a member of Indivisible SF.

Thank you for working to stop Trump and his cronies’ sabotage of the Post Office with hearings and legislation. I ask [the Representative/Senator] do everything possible to stop and reverse the dangerous measures slowing down the mail and endangering our election.

To make sure the effort is as effective as possible, I want [the Representative/Senator] to do the following:

  • Find out the reason for dismissing 23 postal executives on August 7th

  • Find out what the plans are to ensure ballots go out and are received on time for November’s election and what funding is needed to ensure no delays

  • Have Louis DeJoy arrested by the House Sergeant at Arms for Inherent Contempt, if he fails to appear

  • Issue subpoenas for other witnesses from the Board of Governors and USPS whistleblowers, including the 23 ousted officials;

  • [Pelosi or Speier]: Assign Congresswoman Katie Porter (D-CA 45) to lead questioning in hearings.

Background

Trump and his cronies have undertaken a shocking sabotage of the Post Office in the midst of the pandemic, with the aim of undermining the election in November. The Postal Service is in the process of removing 671 high-speed mail-sorting machines nationwide this month, a process that will eliminate 21.4 million items per hour’s worth of processing capability from the agency’s inventory.

On Thursday and Friday, it began removing public collection boxes in parts of California, New York, Pennsylvania, Oregon and Montana. After massive outcry, the agency said Friday that it would stop mailbox removals, which it said were routine, until after the election.

Sustained outrage by Americas has prompted Speaker Pelosi to bring the House back early to hold hearings, but we need to make sure our representatives follow through on saving the USPS and our elections. For more information and actions, read the blog post on the issues here.
