Yes, the regret is real and so is the resistance
As voters give more scrutiny to candidates for November’s midterm elections, many of us agree on the importance of being attentive to the choices made by our candidate and who or what stands behind them. Many regretful voters from the 2024 Presidential election have learned some hard lessons with the change from the Biden White House to the terror thrown at us by Trump 2.0. Many of his former supporters regret not having done a better examination of those they voted for down the GOP ticket. Trump (and others) have in essence awakened a numb but also sleepy giant: those who in the past did not care much for voting, those who inherited their political identity from previous generations, or those who thought whatever he did would not touch their lives. Yes, the regret is real and now, so is the resistance!
And yes, resistance shows up in how we vote. We too often hear and ignore that “elections have consequences”, until a giant chaos-causing juvenile has control. And almost nobody is immune to his actions, including across the pond! This Administration has taught a valuable lesson to many voters, to not only be careful of what they wish for, but to also not be so easily swayed by talking points, campaign ads, staged rallies and things of that nature. In last week’s blog piece, we announced an ISF effort to help voters do better with their choices. We presented a mini-initiative How to Truly Vet a Political Candidate featuring three video clips:
Part 1: Trust and Verify.
Part 2: Follow the Money.
Part 3: Character Matters.
The resources we have gathered are not only vital but can be valuable to many who seek to be more attentive of their role in who represents us. Three useful “trackers” are linked below - check them out and share our information and your findings with others. Thank you!
