Immigrants from around the world make America great!

  • Accompany immigrants to their appointments with Faith in Action Bay Area. Join organized volunteer accompaniment teams for anyone who has an immigration court hearing, ICE Check-In or other type of appointment with immigration agencies in San Francisco. Accompaniment volunteers provide a steady and warm source of support (but are not attorneys and do not give legal advice). https://www.faithinactionba.org/accompaniment

  • Direct action/rapid response: Adopt A Day Labor Corner – NDLON. The National Day Laborer Organizing Network is calling on the public to Adopt a Day Labor Corner. What we’re witnessing across the country—ICE raids, armored vehicles, and masked agents—may feel like a distant issue but for immigrant workers, for day laborers, for our neighbors, it is already here. This moment demands more than watching. It demands that we show up for one another—in person, nonviolently, with courage, with love, and with urgency. If you are not at risk of deportation, we are asking you to consider taking action today. https://ndlon.org/adopt-a-day-labor-corner/

  • Petition: No new ICE Detention Center in Shuttered Federal Prison FCI Dublin. FCI Dublin was closed last year due to horrific staff sexual abuse, retaliation, and medical neglect; and inhumane, unsafe physical conditions at the facility, including mold, asbestos, and crumbling infrastructure. Prior to shutdown, non-US citizens incarcerated in FCI Dublin were specifically preyed upon by staff because of their immigration status and pending deportation case. Now, ICE may reopen FCI Dublin as an immigration detention center. We call for the permanent closure of FCI Dublin and oppose its reopening as an ICE detention center. https://actionnetwork.org/petitions/iceoutofdublin/

  • Public hearing: City sanctuary policy, Monday, October 27 5:30 pm, City Hall. The Immigrant Resource Center has called for a public hearing on the city’s sanctuary policy. More details to follow. This is a major moment for immigration rights and for transparency and accountability in law enforcement. Showing up matters! Public presence will play a huge role, so please mark your calendars.

  • Call your Congresspeople: stop Trump’s illegal deportations! The case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia and his unlawful, unjustified deportation to a foreign torture prison in El Salvador riveted the nation. Since his case became national news, DHS has continued to show its contempt for the rule of law and the Eighth Amendment prohibiting cruel and unusual punishment by expelling people without trial to random countries where they have no current or family connections. Use this call script to denounce Trump’s illegal deportations and renditions to foreign prisons!

  • Call your Congresspeople: Support the Dream and Promise Act. America Must Keep Its Promise: Support the Dream & Promise Act! It’s time for Congress to deliver on its promises: pass the Dream and Promise Act and give immigrant families the safety and stability they deserve. This bill would provide a path to citizenship for Dreamers, Temporary Protected Status holders, and Deferred Enforced Departure beneficiaries who strengthen our communities every day. Please stand with immigrant families and push for its passage. Read More
