Emergency Demonstration to Save TPS For Haitians and All Refugees From Deportation

  • Ferry Building 1 Ferry Building San Francisco, California, 94111 United States (map)

The Trump administration is in the process of deporting 350,000 Haitians back to a country enveloped in violence. Haitian Temporary Protected Status (TPS) holders have been here for decades. Among them are 130,000 nurses and home health care workers. They are being sent back to Haiti, where massacres, rapes, and killings occur daily. Haitian refugees are now being humiliated with ankle shackles and hunted in their cars. Most recently, Pierre Damas Bel, 20 years old, despondent over the loss of his ability to live his daily life and haunted by the threat of being deported to Haiti, committed suicide. This is yet another murder by ICE.

Here in the Bay Area, the Haiti Action Committee has called for an emergency demonstration to protest the deportation of Haitians will benefit all those whose TPS has been or will be revoked. The protest will take place Thursday, September 24 from 4:30-6 pm at the Ferry Building @ Embarcadero (foot of Market St) in San Francisco.

September 23-27, 2026 is designated as National Days of Action to Save TPS for Haitians and all others. Stopping the deportation of Haitians will benefit all those whose TPS has been or will be revoked.
