Stand Up For Science with our LGBTQ+ team and Climate team. With anti-science propaganda and policies being forced upon us, we need to show up to support scientists and stand against anti-intellectualism.

Two of the most affected fields in America are healthcare and climate. With the changeover of medical policy to pure MAGA ideology, we are seeing the erasure of vaccine guidance, unintelligible nonsense in the place of nutritional guidelines, and other atrocities. But one that often gets overlooked is the harm done to the medical care of transgender people and the support of their families.
MAGA operates on a strict and non-scientific ideology of a gender and sexual binary. That ideology demands excluding people who don’t fit that binary from accessing medical care. Our LGBTQ+ team will have a booth at Stand Up For Science to help people join in supporting trans kids and adults and their families.
At the same time, the ideological deletion of climate guidelines entirely is the expression of the desire to extract as much profit as possible, regardless of the consequences to the planet. But there is hope: since California is one of the most populous states in the US and one of the biggest world economies, our state gets to set a lot of the de-facto policies on climate. So now is the time to support climate science more than ever, especially here in California.
