Join our climate-focused friends for a beach cleanup, treats, and refreshments!
Vince is the founder of Refuse Refuse, a community cleanup and maintenance organization. Vince has generously offered to let us use his birthday beach cleanup as a warm-up for No Kings 3. This event is a great opportunity to meet people ahead of the larger No Kings Day events, because protesting with friendly faces is always better!
Though a beach cleanup may seem unrelated to a mass mobilization, this public act of democratic stewardship a week before the big march illustrates that No Kings is a movement, not a moment. The events on the 28th will largely be focused on accountability. We will take up space and make noise and be impossible to ignore, as we demand justice for grievous harms. But in order for those demands to be credible, they must be backed by a dense network of organized and interdependent communities. And so the focus most days must be on building that community. And that includes taking care of our shared spaces! Let’s get out, meet our neighbors, and make our city cleaner and healthier. If you can let the organizers know you are coming (helpful but not essential) sign up here.
