More on the Propositions:
Yes on Prop B: Our votes to approve Prop B will codify the frame work for an SF Public Bank, an economic engine for a city that works for everyone, not just the wealthy. The Public Bank will promote an economy that upholds social justice and ecological sustainability, promote community wealth building, permanently affordable housing, locally-owned social enterprises, cooperatives & community based nonprofits.
Yes on Prop I, SF Guarantee Act: SF voters will approve a dedicated, reliable source of money for affordable housing without increasing taxes. Prop I takes money our government already collects on big real estate deals, and uses it to solve the the affordable housing crisis, at no extra cost to most San Franciscans.
NO on Prop D: Since 1898, San Franciscans have used the initiative process to organize around issues affecting their communities. If Prop D passes, the wealthy will still be able to place an initiative on the ballot. But organizations, unions, and coalitions representing low-income communities and communities of color will be priced out - effectively ending this right. Prop D will not make your ballot shorter, it just shifts whose voice will be represented on the ballot.
