Republicans are busy rolling back federal non-discrimination protections for LGBTQ+ people, so it is important that we in California pass our own. It’s almost end of session and these bills MUST pass.

Funds to the Trump regime must be stopped - even if it means a government shutdown.

AB 49 was introduced as part of a broader effort to safeguard immigrant communities in light of intensified deportation measures under the Trump administration. Previously, federal guidelines designated schools as “sensitive locations,” making them largely off-limits for routine immigration enforcement. However, in January 2025, the Trump administration revoked these protections, allowing immigration officers greater access to schools and other community spaces.

The dismantling of USAID is a disaster that is unfolding in real time with dire consequences. More people will die and probably by now are dying! Preventable illnesses will go unchecked and valuable medical research will be brought to a halt. Add to that the decimation of US farming communities and substantial job losses in tech and healthcare and you have a story that is woefully underreported in the media. We need you to reach out to media outlets to bring their attention to this situation and/or tag online, where and when the opportunity presents itself.

It’s time for Congress to deliver on its promises: pass the Dream and Promise Act and give immigrant families the safety and stability they deserve.

Mass shooting coverage often defaults to scapegoating of minorities, especially transgender people. We need responsible coverage of our mass shooting epidemic without causing further harm to our communities.

In addition to legislative, policy, financial, and law-enforcement attacks on our democracy, the MAGA Regime is engaged in a systematic campaign to gut or eliminate environmental, health, safety, labor, anti-discrimination, and other hard-won regulations and policies.

Given the abduction of immigrants and citizens of color, including children, in the state of California, these brave acts by teachers and leaders at SFUSD should be supported and applauded.

Samara is a 7‑year‑old San Franciscan with serious medical needs who has spent the past two years living in shelters with her family. After undergoing multiple surgeries this month, she is preparing to leave the hospital—but the City has told her parents they don’t qualify for housing assistance because, according to a computer system, they are “not homeless enough.”
