Republicans recently responded with their HEALS Act which provides yet more tax-breaks and benefits for the wealthy, but does nothing of substance for the vast majority of Americans. Yet Republicans are in disarray and can’t pass their own bill. This gives the Senate Democrats strong negotiating leverage – if they stand firm and fight.
