Trump is threatening to take funds that have been appropriated to other departments by Congress to pay for his racist wall. Not only is this unconstitutional, but it will place Americans at far greater risk than any imagined border emergency.

Make no mistake -- Trump’s emergency declaration is an illegal, anti-democratic power grab rooted in racism. We need to stand up and defend our democracy and our immigrant, Muslim, black, and brown communities.
