My name is __________. I am a constituent, and my zip code is _______. I am a member of Indivisible SF.
Thank you for helping Senator Corey Booker conduct his 24 hour speech on Tuesday. [For Sen. Schiff: thank you also for putting a hold on Edward Martin for US Attorney for DC.] I urge the Senator to do more to disrupt Senate business to stop Trump’s agenda.
Background
Spring is here, and we may finally be seeing signs of Democratic Congressmembers growing spines. Yesterday, we saw Sen. Cory Booker giving a marathon floor speech for 25 hours and 5 minutes. Senator Booker’s extended speech served to hold up Senate business and blockade Trump’s agenda. It’s clear that our Senators are hearing the outrage of constituents for their overall weak leadership so far. Senator Booker’s speech and his colleagues’ participation are a great start—we’d love to see more of this.
Both of our senators, Sen. Alex Padilla and Sen. Adam Schiff, helped out by asking questions—allowing Sen. Booker to rest his voice while continuing to hold the floor.
Senator Schiff has also announced a hold on the nomination of Edward Martin for US Attorney for DC, citing his corrupt conduct.
These are the actions our Senators should be taking: speaking out for the people they represent, and using all the powers and procedures available to them to fight for their constituents. We’d love to see both Senator Padilla and Senator Schiff doing more things like this to obstruct the Trump/MAGA agenda.
Call your Senators and tell them: thank you and do more to fight for us!
This Week's US Congressional Call Scripts:
Trump/Musk have been furiously slashing and gutting the federal government so that they can extend Trump's 2017 tax-cuts-for-the-wealthy before they expire at the end of this year. Tell your Senators and Representative to defend Social Security against Trump and Musk
Tell our Congresspeople: Stop BOP from Putting Trans Women in Men’s Prisons
“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.” – Martin Luther King.
Today we are confronted with the most dangerous political-constitutional crisis since the depths of the Great Depression of the 1930s and the rise of domestic fascism. And if Trump/Musk are not stopped, American democracy will face the gravest threat since the slave-holder rebellion of the Civil War.

H.R.22 will disenfranchise millions and hurt millions more. Tell your Representative to vote NO!
H.R.32 could potentially cut federal funding to schools, hospitals, homeless shelters, and transportation systems in more than two dozen states deemed "sanctuaries."
On Monday, wannabe-king Trump issued an unconstitutional decree through his Office of Management and Budget (OMB) halting a wide swath of federal non-defense funding for an indefinite period. This is an assertion of illegal powers to seize money that Congress has already legally directed to be spent for health, safety, education, research, housing, disaster relief, small business loans, and a wide range of other public needs.
