The USA Freedom Reauthorization Act, an extension of the PATRIOT Act, has been winding its way through Congress. After passing the House and being amended in the Senate, the next House vote is imminent. An amendment has been added to the bill requiring a warrant for surveillance of online activity. The HEROES Act for more COVID-19 aid has passed the House, including significant progressive provisions. Now it heads to the Senate, where it faces Republican attempts to weaken or defeat it and Trump’s willingness to veto it. Join us in urging our Senators to defend and improve the HEROES Act.
