Public comment: Trump's Latest Attack on the Under-served Will Increase Hunger Among 3 Million People -- Deadline Sep 23rd
The Trump administration never stops trying to take food from the hungry.
On July 24, 2019, the administration announced its latest plan to disqualify three million Americans from the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP, also known as food stamps), this time by taking away states' ability to expand eligibility rules beyond narrow federal limits.
(Sound familiar? It’s the same trick Trump’s EPA has tried pulling to curb California’s efforts to limit pollution and improve fuel efficiency.)
Taking away SNAP will kill people. Those it doesn’t kill, it will hinder for the rest of their lives. SNAP should be expanded, not slashed.
