Join us for a banana-themed art party against facsism! Enjoy brews, banana muffins, and a fun art making experience with Indivisible SF. Everyone is welcome to attend!
Do you feel like Republicans in government are “one banana short of a bunch”? Who decides what is good for We the People? Members of the GOP in today’s federal government show us every day how out of step they are with the American people: US! People of every political persuasion are seeing the chaos and cruelty raining down from Washington D.C. and saying “this GOP has GONE BANANAS!” Did these public servants slip on a banana peel and hit their heads? How else to explain turning our country into a banana republic? Tell these “Banana Republicans” where you stand: send them a banana of your own creation! Whether you draw, paint, crochet, felt, sew, knit, sculpt, or craft in some other way, send a message with your banana! What to say? Here’s some “food for thought”. Work with these templates and put your issue in the square brackets below, or write your own banana-themed message:
“Stop treating our democratic republic like a banana republic!”
“Anyone who supports violating our Constitution is one banana short of a bunch!”
“You’d have to be one banana short to [take food out of hungry kids’ mouths]!”

What to do with your banana creation?
Wear or hang it as a sign of protest: attach your banana to a keychain, it hang on your shoulder bag, or in your car; hang 2-D art in a street-facing window, tape it on your laptop cover, or anywhere you want to make a statement
Share your crafty creation online: take a photo of your banana with your message and post it to social media with the hashtag #GOPGoneBananas
Mail your “bananagram” to a member of the federal government: let them know that it’s time to stop going bananas, whether an elected representative or a government official appointed and confirmed by the President and the Senate. Remember: every member of Congress is either running for re-election or fundraising for it! Search here to contact your US Senators and search here to contact your US Representative.
