Board President Mandelman has introduced an important piece of building electrification legislation: an all-electric major renovations amendment to the City’s building code. This will require major building renovation projects to install only electric systems for heating/cooling, water heating and cooking. This is a timely and necessary move towards an existing building stock that no longer burns fossil fuels.

350SF and SF Climate Emergency Coalition will hold a rally on the steps of City Hall at noon on July 28, 2025. The legislation will be heard at 1:30 in Room 250 of City Hall.
