Writing Vote Forward letters is the rare form of activism that you can be confident will accomplish your goal. Starting with its first test campaign in 2017, Vote Forward has carefully studied the impact of all of its campaigns and used numerous small "laboratory" campaigns to empirically test the efficacy of many different approaches. The result is an approach that is guaranteed to have a strong impact on Democratic turnout. The additional turnout generated by Vote Forward letters in the 2020 election was more than enough to determine the result in the presidential contest. In an off-year state-only election where baseline turnout is much lower, the effect will be even greater (again, based on clear empirical evidence from several past elections). That's why Swing Left has partnered with Vote Forward as the only form of written voter communication (Swing Left does not support ANY postcard campaign). We want to direct our volunteers into activism that will translate their efforts into a maximum of real political change.
