Please join us on Thursday, September 22nd, at 6:00 pm as we welcome CA-40 Congressional candidate Dr Asif Mahmood as our guest for our sixth “Hold the House” meeting.

The road to holding our House majority runs through California, where we have the opportunity to flip back districts that turned from blue to red in 2020 – and where we know that votes will be counted and certified fairly. One of those districts is the newly-configured CA-40, in the eastern portion of Orange County, where Dr. Asif Mahmood is running to unseat Republican incumbent Young Kim.

Dr. Mahmood, a pulmonologist and doctor of internal medicine, is running because, “…helping others is our highest calling…CA-40 needs leaders who wake up every day to solve problems and actually help families in our district.” Kim is a relative moderate by Republican standards, but is also an abortion opponent who supports unrestricted access to guns. The new 40th district has a 5% Republican voter registration advantage and is currently rated “likely Republican”, though the electoral landscape has been shifting nationwide.
