Gov. Newsom and our Legislature: Protect Californians from Trump and his fascist agenda

Along with other Indivisibles in Indivisible CA: StateStrong, the coalition of Indivisible groups in California, we are urging our state elected officials to stand up to Trump. We’ve signed on to a letter urging them to:

• Create state-funded legal defense funds for when the Trump administration tries to litigate against Californian regulations and civil rights

• Reinforce sanctuary laws and protect Californians and visitors from deportation

• Stand against federal attacks on LGBTQ+ (particularly trans) people 

• Maintain our high-standard regulations and use our economic leverage to continue setting de facto policy nationwide and keep Californians and all Americans safe and healthy

• Participate in interstate compacts with other blue states in cases of emergency or if the federal government declines funding

We will work to pressure Gov. Newsom and our state legislature to enact this agenda in the coming years, and we are ready to hold them accountable.
