Stop Rule Change That will Enable Trump's Judicial and Other Nominees to be Approved With Only Two Hours of Senate Debate

Senator Dianne Feinstein

SF Office: (415) 393-0707
DC Office: (202) 224-3841
LA Office: (310) 914-7300
Fresno Office: (559) 485-7430
San Diego Office: (619) 231-9712

If you can't get through to one office, try another.  There is no benefit to calling one office over another.  Leaving a voicemail is as good as reaching a live person.

Senator Kamala Harris

SF Office: (415) 981-9369
DC Office: (202) 224-3553
Sacramento Office: (916) 448-2787
LA Office: (213) 894-5000
San Diego Office: (619) 239-3884

Call the SF office first, but try the other offices if you can’t get through. If you can’t get a live person, leave a voicemail and also send a follow-up email written in your own words.

Senate Resolution (SR) 50 is Mitch McConnell's most recent and most outrageous effort yet to enable Trump appointees to sail through the Senate confirmation process with virtually no debate whatsoever.

This proposed rule change is a blatant attack on our democracy, our Constitution and our Senate rules and norms. Issuing press releases is NOT enough. The Senator must deny quorum and pledge to vote against every Trump nominee until normalcy is restored to the Senate!

Background:

Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell have been eviscerating our federal circuit and district courts for the past two years, along with the standard norms that, prior to the Trump regime, had ensured fair and open and honest debate over judicial nominees. With the blatant disregard of the blue slip process and the traditional 30-hour debate rule for all nominees, McConnell has been breaking all standards, rules and norms to ensure an unprecedented number of radical, alt-right Federalist judges are appointed to the Courts. If SR 50 passes the Senate, that will spell the end of any hope for a fair and balanced judiciary for the next 40 years to come.
